Preferences menu » Nickvoice Rules tab

Nickvoice Rules tab allows you to set one specific nickvoice for a specific application. Whenever AV VCSG captures audio stream from the application, it will automatically apply the nickvoice for the stream.

To activate the Nickvoice rules select the Enable check-box (1).

The table below explains the use of buttons in this module:

Add button

Adds a new rule to the rule list. This will open the Add a rule dialog box.

Remove button

Removes a selected rule from the list.

Reset button

Removes all the rules from the Nickvoice Rule list.

Move up button

Moves up the selected rule.

Move down button

Moves down the selected rule.

Notes:

• Selected rule is in red.

• To do an action on a rule, select it, then click the appropriate button.

• To change the settings of a rule, double click it.

• To activate/deactivate a single rule, click it once. If the LED indicator of the Rule is green , it is activated. If it is red, the rule is deactivated.

• If you apply Nickvoice rules for an application while the application is running, the rule will not be applied at that time. Re-start that application again in order for the rule taking effect.

When you click the Add button, the Add a Rule dialog box will show up:

The table below explains the meaning of features in this dialog box:

Name textbox

Defines the name for the rule.

Nickvoice textbox

Shows the name of the nickvoice to be used in the rule.

Click the Browse for nickvoice button (1) on the right of the Nickvoice textbox to choose a nickvoice. You can choose a nickvoice from the list in the popup menu or click the Load command to specify it from your hard disk.

Notes:

The nickvoice file format is .nvc.

Application textbox

Shows the name of the application(s) that the rule will be applied. The default value of the Application textbox is "Any", which means all applications.

Click the Browse for application button (2) on the right of the Application textbox to choose an application. The popup menu shows the list of all applications that are running at the same time with AV VCSG in your computer. You can choose the application from this list or click the Browse command to choose from your computer’s program list.

If you leave the Application textbox with its default value, the nickvoice will be applied for all applications that VCSG recognizes and works with.

Sample rate listbox

Defines the sample rate for the new rule.

The default value of the Sample rate listbox (3) is "Any", which means all sample rates. If you leave the Sample rate listbox with its default value, the nickvoice will be applied for streams of all sample rates that VCSG recognizes and works with.

Stereo/Mono listbox

Chooses the audio mode (Stereo/Mono/Any) for the current rule.

The default value of the Stereo/Mono listbox (4) is “Any”, which means either the stream is Stereo or Mono one.

Mode listbox

To set the mode (DirectX/Waveform/Any) for current rule.

The default value of the Mode listbox (5) is "Any", which means all kinds of audio stream.

Capture/Play listbox

Selects the playing mode of the audio stream (Capture/Playback/Any) for current rule.

The default value of the Capture/Play listbox (6) is "Any", which means all playing modes of the audio input stream.

OK button

Closes the dialog box and creates the new rule.

Cancel button

Closes the dialog box without performing any action.

Notes:

• To close the VCSG Preferences tab-panel and apply the new preferences, click OK.

• To close the VCSG Preferences tab-panel without performing any changes, click Cancel.

• To apply the new preferences without closing the VCSG Preferences tab-panel, click Apply.
