Preferences menu » Common tab

This tab allows you to change common settings of AV Voice Changer Gold like the volume value of the microphone, startup setting, AutoUpdate settings, etc. These are the global settings upon the performance of AV VCSG.

Click the Common tab to switch to the common settings window.

The table below explains the meaning of settings in this tab:

Record non-morphed streams at VCS Gold Recorder checkbox

If checked, AV VCSG Recorder will record all the streams as non-morphed.

Process VCS Gold Player in Morpher checkbox

If checked, all the files played by AV VCSG Player will be morphed by the morphing features of AV VCSG. Otherwise, the morphing processes will be temporarily paused while AV VCSG Player is running, i.e. you will hear the original sound of the file.

Launch VCS Gold on Windows startup checkbox

If checked, AV VCSG will automatically be launched after the Windows operation system has been started up.

Minimize VCS to system tray checkbox

- If checked, the VCSG icon will be hidden in the system tray when you minimize it. To restore any VCSG utilities, right click on the VCSG icon on the system tray, choose Utilities and choose it from the popup menu. Commands available in the popup menu will depend on the status of VCSG is On or Off (see Power button).

- List of commands in the the popup menu:

- When VCSG is ON:

• Restore

• Utilities: Player, Recorder, Comparator, Parody and Analyzer

• Duplex: Turn on/off Duplex function

• Nickvoices: Fore Male Input Voice, For Female Input Voice, and Special.

• Parodies: Choose a Parody

• OFF: Switch off all VCSG's features

• Exit

- When VCSG is OFF:

• Restore

• Utilities: Player, Recorder, Comparator, Parody and Analyzer

• Duplex: Turn on/off Duplex function

• ON: Switch on all VCSG's features

Select microphone on startup check-box

This is the Autoselect microphone at start option of AV VCSG. If this option is enabled, AV VCSG selects microphone and adjusts its optimum volume level in system mixer.

Boost checkbox

To boost or attenuate the microphone frequency band.

Notes:

Some sound cards do not support this function.

Level slider

Move the slider to manually adjust microphone volume level.

Transparency slider

Change the transparency level of the VCSG skin on your desktop.

Move the slider to the right to increase the transparency level, or to the left to decrease it.

Enable Autoupdate checkbox

If checked, VCSG’s built-in Update Manager will automatically connect to our website to check for the latest update after the program has been launched. If a new update is found, the user will be prompted to download and install it.

AutoUpdate can be switched off, and the user can start Update Manager manually at any time.

Check for update now button

Click this button to check for updates of the software.

Notes:

• To close the VCSG Preferences tab-panel and apply the new preferences, click OK.

• To close the VCSG Preferences tab-panel without performing any changes, click Cancel.

• To apply the new preferences without closing the VCSG Preferences tab-panel, click Apply.
